• cal. 9/10RS manual winding lever movement, 18 jewels • two toned silvered dial, painted black baton indexes, subsidiary seconds • platinum rectangular case, solid snap on case back • case, dial, and movement signed 

Condition

CASE Case in fair condition consistent with age. Oxidation to the spring bars. Left side case band with wear and sporadic dot surface indentations. A hallmark with wear, but visible. Case back with wear, light oxidation, and an area of undulation toward the bottom. Case is numbered 747, mostly visible but with heavy fading. Lip for opening and closing snap on case back with wear and inconsistency. Bezel with wear and light surface scuffs and nicks. DIAL Two toned dial is very unique and in fair condition. Perimeter with losses and oxidation, which are visible when the dial is uncased. Metallic outer areas are very attractive, and with some superficial lines. Some light debris overall. Tip of minute hand with a slight curve. MOVEMENT Movement with some light wear. The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Catalogue Note

The present lot was a gift from Carl Laemmle Jr., the son of Carl Laemmle, founder of Universal Pictures.  The studio produced extremely successful films, such as All Quiet on the Western Front, Dracula, and Imitation of Life, during his tenure as Head of Production from 1928-1936.
