Over 107 ALBUMEN PRINTS (c.82 prints average 190 x 240mm., or the reverse, and 24 carte-de-visite size portraits 95 x 55mm.), most on large card mounts, mounted recto and verso, nearly all with neat ink captions on the mounts, some wear and tears, light spotting and dust-soiling

A GOOD GROUP OF EARLY PHOTOGRAPHS, including Jamaica (40), Barbados (19), Martinique (16), Bermuda (11), Demarara (2), Madeira (4), St Lucia and St Kitts. The photographs include general views, landscapes, waterfalls, townscapes, shipping, sugar plantations, and naval and military groups, including 'General and staff, Barbados, 1866', and '2nd Battalion "The Buffs" [East Kent Regiment] Barbados 1866', and views of the officers quarters and barracks. Royal naval ships shown include HMS Aboukir and Penelope in Jamaica, HMS Racoon in Bermuda, and HMS Assurance, and HMS Spartan.
