Catalogue Note

Covens and Mortier were important cartographic publishers. They reissued atlases by Delisle, Visscher, de Wit, and Sanson, whose plates they purchased. Cornelis Mortier made a partnership with Johannes Coverns in 1721, after marrying his sister. The company continued with the same name until 1778.
