Catalogue Note

Gastaldy was a writer and photographer who had a studio in Saigon in the 1920s and early 1930s. He travelled widely in Indochina, Siam and Burma, taking portraits of different ethnic groups, rural life and work, and landscapes. He also published the work of other professional photographers.
