Illustrations from Nemrut Dağ, the mausoleum of Antiochus I (69–34 B.C.). It is one of the most important archaeological sites in Asia Minor and of the Hellenistic period. Antiochus I was the reign of Commagene, a kingdom founded north of Syria and the Euphrates.
