  • burled fir, hide shade with leather roping
  • 25 3/4  in. (65.4 cm) high, including shade22 1/2  in. (57.2 cm) diameter of shade

Provenance

American West, Ketchum, Idaho

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces with scattered and faint surface scuffs, minor dents, abrasions, and minor surface soiling concentrated to the recesses of the wood, all consistent with age and gentle use. There are natural knots, irregularities and separations in the wood grain, typical for Inland fir, and this has been reinforced with wood infill in areas (the largest 12 in long) by Molesworth at the time of production. The shade is contemporary and presents with some minor surface scratches, not visually distracting, as well as some lifting from the adhesive lining, measuring approximately 6 ¼ in. along the slant height, though appears stable. The brass elements with some oxidation consistent with age and gentle use. A well proportioned example that presents nicely overall.
