Condition

Overall in very good condition. There are natural knots, irregularities and separations in the wood grain, typical for Inland fir, and this has been reinforced with wood infill in some areas at the time of production. The wood surfaces present with minor scattered scuffs, scratches, minor areas of rubbing and discoloration, consistent with age and gentle use. The front proper right foot with a minor loss to the wood that has been sensitively stabilized, measuring approximately 2 ¾ x ½ in. The paint on the apron and back splat motifs has been sensitively repainted in recent years. The leather is original and in good general condition, with minor craquelure on the back splat, as is common with this material over time. There is some fading to the leather grain, particularly across the seat, as well across the front edges and corners, largely from light rubbing over time. The center of the seat with two instances of wear to the leather revealing the linen backing underneath, both stable, the larger measuring approximately 3/16 x ¼ in. The brass tacks with some minor surface scratches and areas of rubbing, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use.
