Condition

Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces with minor scattered scuffs, scratches, dents, minor areas of rubbing and discoloration, and surface soiling concentrated to the recesses of the designs, all consistent with age and gentle use. Both stands with some areas of wood infill throughout, filled by the artist at the time of production and common in these furniture pieces, most prominently in the central tiers of the stand, as partially visible in the catalogue illustration. There are natural knots, irregularities and separations in the wood grain, typical for Inland fir. The leather surfaces are all original and present with scattered scuffs, scratches, and areas of rubbing consistent with age and gentle use. The uppermost leather top of each stand with one minor isolated abrasion towards the edges, the larger measuring approximately 1/8 x 3/8 in. The brass tacks with some minor surface scratches and areas of rubbing, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use. The underside of each stand with the original owner's name and location in black ink. Two examples of a rare form that present well overall.
