Condition

Overall in very good, age appropriate condition. This lot was originally designed as a kitchen table (to pair with four yellow upholstered side chairs, lot 18) and is currently presented as a low table with contemporary, shorter legs. The original table legs are each 28 ¾ in long and are offered with the lot, allowing for this piece to function as the buyer prefers. When installed with the original legs, the table stands 25 ¾ in. high overall. The wood surfaces of the contemporary legs with minor scattered scuffs, nicks, and dents, consistent with age and gentle use. One of these legs with an area of wood infill to the grain, with some subsequent losses. Additionally there are minor losses and wear where the bolts secure the legs, likely due to over tightening. The original legs with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, dents, abrasions, instances of paint residue, and areas of rubbing and discoloration, consistent with age and use. The original legs each with some denting around the circumference located about halfway up the leg, measuring approximately ¼ in. in thickness. The leather is original; its surfaces with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, some minor lifting, and some instances of discoloration and rubbing concentrated to the edges, all consistent with age and use. The brass tacks are all present. A vibrant example of Molesworth use of color in the years immediately following World War II.
