the stupa at the centre with Buddha Shakyamuni seated on a throne within, flanked by bodhisattvas Maitreya and Lokeshvara, eyes depicted on the harmika, thirteen chatra on a spire above and a lotus umbrella flanked by apsaras, myriad chaitya amidst blue Buddhas below, Ushnishavijaya and Five Pancharaksa beneath, surrounded by deities and scenes of puja, the donor family in the lower register flanking Manjushri, Ganesha and Mahakala, with an inscription beneath Himalayan Art Resources item no. 18368.

Condition

Considerable creasing with associated losses throughout. Heavily stained in upper third of the painting with considerable loss of paint. Severe creasing down the left hand edge. Laid down on board.
