The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although it fails to fully convey the nuances in the gold colour and texture of the gold leaf visible in the original.
This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals some evidence of handling as well as a few superficial scratches in isolated places, and some rub marks to the overturn edges with some associated specks of loss, all of which are in keeping with the artist’s choice of media.There is an irregularity to the application of gold leaf to the reverse of the work.
