Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Zolotas.

This striking necklace is the product of a collaboration between Zolotas, one of the foremost Greek jewellers, renowned for their gold work, and the sculptor Claude Lalanne (b.1924).

Lallane and her husband François-Xavier Lalanne (1908-2008) were known collectively as 'les Lalanne', and together they created playful, naturalistic and highly detailed sculpture and furniture in metalwork, often cast from life. Examples of their work can be found among such prestigious collections as those of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York.
