Small 8vo (140 x 90mm.), black letter, title within woodcut border, woodcut diagrams and illustrations, nineteenth-century straight-grained green morocco gilt by W. Pratt for F.S. Ellis [booksellers], gilt edges, corner of title, G2 and G8 restored, not affecting printed area, first and last leaves slightly soiled, upper hinge split

The work was prepared for publication by the Austin friar Thomas Paynell (fl. 1528-1567) and first printed c. 1537; four reprints, with conjectured publication dates of 1550, 1553, 1563, and 1565, are recorded. All these editions are scarce, with a cumulative total 35 copies recorded by ESTC for all five editions.
