Catalogue Note

A good copy. Originally published in 1668 in the aftermath of the Fire of London, "for the information of such persons as were concerned either in letting, buying, selling, or building, of (or upon) ground then in the ruins of the City of London, occasioned by the dreadful fire" ("To the reader" leaf). It is one of the earliest books to deal with the economics of ownership of land and the erection of houses upon it.
