Catalogue Note

Leupold's encyclopaedia was republished in its entirety in 1774, this being volume 8 (see footnote to lot 352). This copy differs from the first edition in not having a volvelle on plate 3 (never present), and the plates are folding and attached to stubs, enabling them to be viewed in conjunction with the text.
