A translation into German of Nova stereometria, Kepler's work on the gauging of wine barrels, which was printed in Linz in 1615 (see lot 311), but Kepler has amended the text here to make it easier to read and he has altered the order of the material (there are printed references in the margins to the Latin text). He has also added an appendix on the weights and measures of the ancients and moderns, which does not appear in the Latin version.
