Catalogue Note

FIRST EDITION of Lusvergh's manual on the use of the sector, which is mostly reprinted from Galileo's own text. Giacomo Lusvergh was an instrument-maker from Modena; his engraving of Galileo's sector has his name at the head, as do the sectors made by him which survive in various science museums, with varying dates.
