Catalogue Note

A rare handbook of arithmetic for students and merchants by a recent graduate of Leipzig university, author also of a Compendiosa ars numerandi (Vienna 1520). Thanner published several similar works, intended for the use of the university and local merchants. The copies recorded in Prague (Library of Premonstratensians at Strahov, DQ VI 13/9) and Bamberg (Staatsbibliothek, 22/Inc.typ.M.III.32) also consist of 6 leaves; the one in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (4 Math p. 400, 21t), described by VD16 and digitised, lacks folios A3-A4.
