THE FIRST OF MACDONALD'S BOOKS EXPRESSLY INTENDED FOR CHILDREN, including the first appearance of his story 'The Golden Key'. The collection also includes Macdonald's earliest published fairy tale, 'Cross Purposes', which featured in Beeton's Christmas Annual in 1862.
