Description

comprising a censer and cover, a pair of candle prickets, and a pair of fang gu vases, each of squared archaistic form and enameled with kuilong in cobalt blue and pink enamels against a bright turquoise-blue ground, the censer cover centered by a gilt-metal luduan finial (6).

Condition

The base plate underneath the finial of the censer cover with restoration to enamels and gilding on the finial has been rubbed. The 4 legs of the censer has been consolidated, and two sides of the stand section has been restored. There are fills in the screw holes to the inside of the censer. One gu-form vase in overall good condition, the other with some restoration above the bulbous mid-section below the trumpet neck and the stand section has been restored. One candlestick holder with enamels restored one side of the stand, interior of smaller dripping pan and larger dripping pan, and slightly loose and missing the pricket. The other with restoration and overspray to the top half including the larger dripping pan, as well as the stand section. Both candlestick holders with their two dripping pans and central connecting section reattached with areas of overspray to the interior of dripping pans. The restoration is older but well done and not discolored. Some fine craquelure to the enamels consistent with the type and age, overall some minute chips and nicks to the enamels, minor rubbing to the gilding.
