Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There is an oil sketch of Venice on the reverse of the canvas by the same hand. The work is in excellent original condition with strong passages of impasto throughout, notably in the sky. There are artists pinholes to all four corners. The work is clean and ready to hang. UV light inspection reveals no evidence of retouching or restoration. Held in the original gilt frame and under glass.
