Good quality, dense weave, however pile rather uneven having areas in borders near original with most of the field low to knot heads; small, scattered reweaves (approximately 2-1/2 x 1 inches) in spandrel; upper end secured with binding stitch; lower end missing outer open guard border, now secured with binding stitch; sides intact with minor fraying; somewhat stiff handle due to density of weave; lovely soft wool; sound fabric.
