Description

  • height 31 in.; depth 23 1/2 in.
  • 78.75 cm; 59.7 cm

Provenance

Westenholz Kime, Ltd., London
Sotheby's New York at the Garden Education Center of Greenwich, CT, Garden Statuary, June 15, 1997, lot 204

Condition

Both vases with surface dirt, oxidation and areas of rust throughout, consistent with age and being outdoors, but this not visually impairing. Some chips/losses to the gadrooned rims, but this is again not too visually distracting. On one vase, three parts of the flat sections with beaded edges on top of the rim, approx. 14 in. total, are detached and could benefit from re-soldering.
