Description

  • height 35 in; 88.9 cm
  • height 35 1/4 in; 89.5 cm (measurements alternate field)
each painted with scenes of a tiger hunt

Condition

Both vases restored and with overpaint. One with a V-shaped section out at the rim, with an associated crack extending down and underneath the tail of one lion handle. The other with 1/3 of the rim out and restored back, and one tail of a lion handle broken and restored. There is an inverted J- shaped body crack restored extending from the shoulders down to just above the foot. One of the applied dragon with the head off and restuck, another with losses to the middle horn tip. Both with flaking to the enamels, minor chips and nicks, firing imperfections scattered throughout.
