Condition

Oil on canvas, lined. The picture is slightly slack on the stretcher. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from a dull varnish and areas of loss visible in the roofline of the house at upper left and an area of lifting, cupping, and loss in between the trees. Additional lifting, with a complementary loss, visible at the upper right corner and beginning at lower left corner. Surface dirt and dust, as well as discolored varnish visible along the lower edge. Signs of additional lifting and loss are visible along the extreme edges and along the proper right edge as well. Under UV light, the work is obscured by a green fluorescing varnish, though retouches are visible along the upper and central left edges, in the lower left corner, along the lower edge, in the lower right; and older brush retouches are visible in the sky. An additional area of retouching is visible in the tree at upper center.
