Condition

In overall very good condition with minor surface dirt consistent with age and handling. There are some minor hairline firing fissures consistent with the material. A remnant of a metallic stem is visible under the base, probably where the terracotta was attached to its base.

Catalogue Note

A similar terracotta of a Young naked Woman playing cymbals was exhibited by Patrice Bellanger in 1992 (Galerie Patrice Bellanger, Paris, no. 24). Another one playing the tambourine, signed and dated 1790, was sold by Sotheby's Paris, 18 March 2015, lot 124 (79.800 €).
