of square section, the shallow cover with gently rounded sides, with a shallow corresponding box enclosed in a larger box, the base with a recessed square, the wood patinated to a warm dark brown colour

The box and cover are in good condition with the exception of small gaps where the sides join at the corners, the top of the cover has been re-attached, there is a 1mm., nick to the edge of the cover and very minor and light scratches to the exterior.
