  • 5.2 cm, 2 in.
intricately carved in openwork with a ferocious dragon writhing within a network of lotus blossoms, pierced to the oval base with four small apertures, the stone of a pale celadon tone

Condition

This finial is in overall good condition with minute nicks to the extremities particularly to the frontal and back lotus petals, dragon's teeth, some of the reticulated branches (particularly those closer to the base) which also have some natural fissures through them. Slightly more celadon in colour compared to that illustrated in the catalogue.
