- 33.2 cm, 13 1/8 in.
of rectangular section with canted corners, each side applied with a glass panel reverse painted with figures in landscapes with European-style buildings, surrounded by enamel-painted stylised floral scrolls reserved on a yellow ground, between stylised blue kui dragons
Condition
The jardinière is in fair condition. There are some hairline cracks to the base extending from the corners (the longest being approx. 11 cm), running into some small areas of old restoration, and some associated chips. There are touch-ups to the painted enamel in various areas particularly along the key-fret border of the inner rim. One glass panel with a crack running through the buildings. There are minor wear and some scattered malachite encrustations particularly to the interior of the inner layer.
