Description
- The larger: 40 cm, 15 3/4 in.
each vibrantly painted to the interior with a herd of horses amongst a field of flowers, below a towering willow tree, the exterior further decorated with horses, the base with an apocryphal Yongzheng mark in underglaze blue
Provenance
A private Northumberland collection, acquired in the 1960s to early 1970s.
Condition
The smaller dish with a hairline rim crack (approx. 4 cm), a short firing line (approx. 0.7 cm) and two shallow chips to the rim. The larger dish with very minor fritting to the rim. But otherwise both are in good condition. Firing imperfections include some glaze inconsistences, burst bubbles and iron spots for both.
