Description

  • 15.2 cm, 6 in.
the deep rounded sides supported on a slightly tapered foot, covered overall with a soft yellow glaze slightly pooling to a deeper tone on the inside and around the foot, the base reserved in white and inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character mark within a double circle

Provenance

A private Northumberland collection, acquired in the 1960's to early 1970's.

Condition

There is a shallow chip to the rim (approx.0.7 x 0.3 cm) but otherwise in good condition. There are slight surface scratches. Minor firing imperfections include iron spots and burst bubbles in various areas, and a small area of discolouration to the glaze at the base (approx. 1.5 x 3. 5 cm).
