of hexagonal form, finely inlaid in mother-of-pearl and gold, centred with figures in a mountainous waterscape detailed with pavilions and pine trees, encircled by a band of archaistic kui dragon panels beneath a keyfret border, the base inlaid with an inscription reading Shenshou Tang

Both dishes are in general fair condition with the exception of cracks to the rim for both (the longest measuring approx. 3 cm for one dish, and longest approx. 5 cm for the other). There are minor chips to the lacquer at the rim, and also some flakes and losses to the mother-of-pearl inlay, and rubbing to the gold.
