Description

  • 43.4 cm, 17 1/8  in.
the arched surface inscribed with an inscription from Lanting xu (Preface to the Orchid Pavilion), with an inscription reading Xiaocuo erxiong daren yawan, jiashen chun zhong yinshen ke (For the elegant amusement of Xiaocuo, carved during the second month of the cyclical yinshen year by Yinsheng), the wood of a mellow brown, old fitted box

Condition

In general good condition with the exception of some slight wear to the surface including scratches and minute nicks to the edges, along with minor splitting at the ends. There is a tiny shallow bruise to the lower portion of the inscriptions. Pierced at both ends with a small aperture. With some black smudges at the back.
