Description

  • 14.4 cm, 5 5/8  in.
of cylindrical form, carved to the exterior in low-relief with a playful boy riding a buffalo, below a gnarled pine tree branch issuing from craggy rockwork, patinated to a warm brown colour

Condition

This brushpot is in general good condition, with the exception of some minor nicks to the extremities, and age cracks extending vertically from the base, the longest approx. 3 cm, and some shorter ones from the rim.. There is an area of composite at the base (approx. 4.5 x 4.5 cm) which may have been added at the time of making.
