comprising an ivory 'lion' seal with the seal face reading Han nagen ying, an ivory 'dog' seal with the seal face reading Han nagen, an ivory square seal with the seal face reading Han nagen, an oval soapstone reading Nie cuilin, one with a fitted case

Collection of Gustav Detring (1842-1913) and/or Constantin von Hanneken (1854-1925), and thence by descent.

Condition

From left to the right: the soapstone seal with numerous small nicks to edges and a chip to the side, inscribed 'H.V' to the top. the ivory seal is in overall good condition with some surface scratches. the ivory seal is in overall good condition with some surface wear and some minute nicks to edges of the seal face. the ivory seal with three age cracks running through the surface, with associated minute nicks.
