Condition
The canvas is lined. Some abrasions to the edges and a craquelure pattern across the surface, which appears stable. May benefit from a light clean. Under ultraviolet light reveals retouchings to the edges and some infilling to craquelure around the window. A spot of retouching to the boy's left arm and a larger area near the lower right edge. Held in a rosewood frame. The present work was acquired by Stanley Seeger and Christopher Cone at Christie's, South Kensington, 12 July 2005, lot 14, for £1920 (hammer plus premium)
