Condition

The board bows very slightly, only visible upon close inspection but otherwise appears to be sound. There is some very minor frame abrasion at points to the extreme edges, largely not visible in the present frame. There is a vertical scuff just beneath the wheels of the bike in the centre of the composition. There is one isolated instance of very fine lines of reticulation in the black pigment in the front tyre of the motorbike. There is some light surface dirt and one or two instances of studio matter. Subject to the above the work appears to be in excellent overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a few specks of fluorescence to the white flower underneath the figures, which might be possible retouching. There are other areas of fluorescence elsewhere, which appear to be the hand of the artist. The work is held within a painted black wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
