Condition

The board appears to be sound. There are a small number of tiny nicks and flecks of associated loss to the upper, right and lower edges. There are one or two further scattered flecks of loss in places, including one to the black pigment in the centre. There are some extremely fine lines of craquelure in the black pigment, only visible upon very close inspection. There is surface dirt throughout and some studio matter is apparent. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is floated within a simple painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
