Condition

Unexamined out of the frame. The sheet appears to have been fully laid down on to the backing board. The left, right and lower edges are unevenly cut. There are two small punctures to the sheet in the upper left quadrant. There is a small tear to the upper edge, towards the upper right corner. There are a small number of light scratches to the surface of the work. There is some studio detritus and possible staining to the sheet, in particular to the central passage in the upper half of the work. There has been some slight fading to the pigments. There is some surface dirt and further evidence of studio matter throughout. The work is held behind glass in a gilt wooden frame.
