Condition
The copper plate has been laid on panel, which is cradled, flat and stable. The paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish only slightly discoloured. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a thick varnish underneath which small spots of old retouching are visible scattered throughout, most notably the sky, but the painting is in overall good condition.
