Condition

The board appears to be sound. There a number of nicks and associated flecks of loss to the edges and some slight rounding to the corners. There are a few tiny flecks of loss including to the mauve pigment in the upper left quadrant. There are some closely grouped scratches at the centre of the left edge. There are some light scuffs in places, including in the upper left and lower right corners, and to the figure's stomach. There is surface dirt throughout and some evidence of studio matter and detritus. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is float mounted and held within a linen slip and painted wooden frame.
