Description

  • Height 19 in., 48.3 cm; Width 13 in., 33 cm
depicting Dongfang Shuo stealing the peach of immortality, the figure’s long robes suspending a lingzhi pendant, the face with a mischievous smile, framed

Condition

The panel has slightly darkened overall with age, and there are scattered losses to the embroidery (particularly at the head and the peach). The silk ground has scattered small stains, and small tears and abrasion (the repairs are either stitched or done in paper). The overall tonality is slightly cooler than the illustration in the catalog. Please note that the panel was not removed from the frame for inspection.
