the compressed globular body supported by a splayed foot and rising to a long, cylindrical neck with a flared mouth, boldly painted in bright inky blue tones with lotus blossoms on curling vines with furled leaves, the neck with a band of prunus on cracked ice, a band of petals encircling the foot

Condition

The neck has an approx. 9.5-cm hairline crack descending from the rim, and an approx. 10.5-cm hairline crack from the lower neck to the shoulder and belly; both restored. There is an approx. 13-cm firing line to the base that has been filled-in. The neck has been sprayed. There is expected wear to the surface and footring. There is an old label applied to the base: "Ralph M Chait Galleries New York".
