Description

  • 32 by 28cm, 12 5/8 by 11in.
the oklad entirely covered with vivid shaded varicoloured enamels, the raised basma with scrolling flowerheads, the corners with windged seraphims painted en plein, the central panel with repoussé figures and raised halos, the robes of the Virgin set with two rose-cut diamonds, struck with workmaster's initials FR (Cyrillic), 84 standard

Condition

The enamelled surface with a few small areas of enamel loss and signs of old restoration, visible under UV light. The four corners with minor enamel loss, partially to the metal. The visible areas of the painting with one minor area of paint loss, visible in the catalogue picture; covered in varnish. The areas usually covered by the oklad with small areas of paint loss around the edges, especially by the corners.
