Condition
Original canvas. There is a small patch on the reverse towards the upper edge. There are minor frame abrasions along the edges. Faint stretcher bar marks are visible in places. There is craquelure to the clouds as well as a few scattered areas of craquelure elsewhere. The surface is covered in a light layer of dirt with spots of dirt in places. Inspection under UV light reveals a small area of retouching towards the centre of the top edge, corresponding to the aforementioned patch on the reverse. Held in a painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
