The canvas has been laid down on board. The corners of the board are slightly frayed and the lower left corner of the canvas has become detached. The edges have been covered with paper, some of which has been lost. There is fine craquelure in places, most noticeably in the areas of impasto of the moon and the snow in the foreground. There are abrasions to the paint surface and there is a light layer of dirt. Inspection under UV light shows minor scattered retouching in places, mostly concentrated in the areas of snow and the cloud in the upper left. Held in a decorative gilt wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame. "In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
