There are scattered areas of craquelure and paint shrinkage, mostly noticeably to the horizon line and to the sky above the tree in the middle. A few further minor cracks and flecks of paint loss are visible in places.The paint surface is covered in a layer of dirt. Areas of staining are visible to the background in the upper left quadrant and above the tree in the centre. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a gold-coloured period frame with decorative mouldings. Unexamined out of frame.
