Condition

The board is slightly warped. The edges are uneven. There are frame abrasions along the edges. There are few scattered flecks of paint loss, mostly noticeable along the left edge above the sitter's right shoulder and to the background above the sitter's left shoulder. There is a layer of surface dirt and a yellow stain to the centre of the lower edge. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouching to the face, to the background above the sitter's shoulders and some further scattered areas of retouching elsewhere. Held in a gilt wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
