Condition

There is a hairline crack to the panel running from the upper right to approximately 1cm above the left shoulder of the figure. There is a very minor paint crack to the head of the figure. There are very minor losses of paint to the lower edge and a minor loss to the right of the signature. There is minor craquelure near the eyes of the figure and above the signature. The pencil underdrawing is visible to the naked eye, particularly to the right of the samovar. The pencil underdrawing and the composition do not always overlap. Inspection under UV light reveals several minor areas of retouching: in the lower left, the lower right above the signature, as well as towards the samovar. Held in a gilt wooden frame.
