Condition
The canvas is slack on the stretcher and buckling in places, most notably in the upper left quadrant. Frame abrasions can be seen along the edges. There is a loss in the lower left corner and along the left edge by the flowering tree. Additionally a small puncture is visible along the lower edge, to the left of the feet of the central figure. There is a vertical crack approximately 5cm in length running parallel to the left edge through the figure in blue, and fine craquelure can be seen throughout. There is a light layer of surface dirt with spots in places, and a varnish drip mark can be seen in the lower right corner on the figures seated in a circle. Inspection under UV light reveals no obvious signs of retouching. Held in a painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
